There were 4 empty exam rooms but only 1 nurse on staff.

At this time, I heard multiple employees complaining that their shift should have ended by 7 but they are still here obligated to help as the line was just not diminishing. By 7:05pm I had finished the finger and intake questions and then had to wait for the nurse for a physical. I got someone’s attention by 6:20pm that I am a new donor and have not been helped.

Initially it seemed to be just for general questions but then I noticed other new donors coming in were actually skipping me in line from, as they were not calling in order of the sign in sheet. People flooded into the clinic and started waiting directly at the desk for immediate help. I signed into the sign in sheet and sat patiently waiting. 5:55pm appointment 5:45pm arrival I went to the BioLife Plasma Casselberry donation with a buddy referral to become a new donor. I know they are a money making business selling our plasma to major hospital and pharmaceutical companies. Their employees need to learn some manners. I am appalled that they treat their donors in this manner and don’t bother to follow up with complaint. I am a lifetime donor of RBC to Carter and the Red Cross. She refused to even look at my paperwork. This is another lie because she had left to look at my file. I asked her for the name of the previous nurse and she said she didn’t know. I was appalled and stated that this is an absolute lie. You are permanently deferred and there is nothing I can do about it.” She stated that I had asked the previous nurse to falsify my records. She left me alone for a few moments, returned and said, “I’m sorry. I waited to see the nurse Tina, a new nurse. I returned last week with my blood results in hand proving that I was on no medication. I filed a complaint against the nurse and was asked for corporate to contact me. I was deferred and told to return when I could prove that my blood work was normal. At 54 years old, I was doing everything to be healthy. She couldn’t spell thyroid and didn’t know the difference between hyper and hypo. Her response was, “you know, if you took your medication and worked out, you would lose weight.” I found that highly disrespectful. I had stopped taking my pills several months early but worked out and ate healthy for the past 30 years. I told the nurse I had been hypothyroid but was regulating my thyroid through diet and exercise. After an hour of answering their questions, I went to the nurse in training to review my physical history. I went to Biolife in Denton as a first time donor in 2014.
